Initiatives

BWFF’s initiatives connect people, place, capital, and stewardship. Each addresses a different part of the same challenge: turning Black American economic contribution into stronger institutions, broader ownership, and lasting community and family capacity.

Circular Opportunity Zone Development

COZD brings HBCU land stewardship, community priorities, circular systems, workforce development, and capital readiness into one development framework.

BWFF works with institutional and local partners to assess real opportunities, clarify ownership and implementation roles, and identify what a viable project needs before capital is sought.

BWFF 100 Family Stewardship Office

BWFF 100 is being developed to help Black American families move from individual success toward institutional continuity. Its pathway begins with family-office education and stewardship assessment, then offers appropriate opportunities for private engagement, relationship coordination, governance dialogue, and next-generation development.

BWFF coordinates education and relationships. Independent qualified professionals provide specialized advice and services.

Black Economic Power Index

The Black Economic Power Index is a developing measurement initiative intended to bring greater clarity to Black economic contribution and opportunity across consumer spend, corporate procurement, capital access, employment and mobility, community impact, and innovation.

The Wealth Weekend: Martha’s Vineyard

BWFF’s invitation-only capital and relationship platform connects economic power, capital allocation, institutional capacity, and family legacy. The four-day Wealth Weekend is scheduled for August 6–9, 2027.

Why the Portfolio Matters

BWFF’s model connects People, Place, Capital, and Measurement:

People: The Excellence in Leadership Tour prepares emerging leaders.

Place: COZD develops institution-anchored pathways for community and regional growth.

Capital: The Wealth Weekend organizes relationships and conversations around allocation and ownership.

Measurement: The Black Economic Power Index is being developed to assess economic contribution and progress.

The BWFF 100 Family Stewardship Office supports continuity across those efforts by helping families organize priorities and prepare future stewards.
